Instructional Technology
Description
"This course provides a history and overview of the field of instructional technology. Demonstrations of technologies in different educational settings are explored. Practical and theoretical means for ascertaining the needs of learners, implementations of specific technologies to meet those needs, and assessment of effectiveness of those technologies in meeting learner’s needs are presented." -UTRGV

Projects
Project 1: e-Portfolio.
Overview: "In this project, you will create a professional e-Portfolio. You will select a free online service to create it and a professional-looking interface; create several pages; and upload your projects from this course (and other courses) to your e-Portfolio."
Project 3: Online Profile.
Overview: "Most specialists in the field of educational technology have established their online profiles for others to see. This is an excellent way to share ideas and network with other professional, as well as to post your qualifications and areas of interest for potential employers to see. In this course, you will be expected to develop a professional profile of yourself by subscribing to a free professional network Web-based program."
Project 2: Instructional Multimedia.
Overview: "The coordinator of the Educational Technology program at a university contacts you. He needs you and your team to design an instructional multimedia solution to help educate prospective students and employers. This solution will help solve a challenge he and his program have been increasingly facing."
Part 1: "The team website will need to have a Home Page. On the Home page of your team website, please include the: (1) project title; (2) team member names; (3) date; (4) brief summary of the purpose of the project and website; and (5) outline of the project with links to each section".
Part 2: "(1) Create a dynamic, informative, and persuasive 3-5 minute online, multimedia presentation that provides an overview of the field of Educational Technology, designed to meet the instructional and target audience needs described in the scenario above. (2) Complete an Artifact Report for the multimedia presentation where you describe how the presentation and your work as a team meets the national EdTech standards, and the modifications made to the drafts of the presentation."
